VOLUNTEER

Welcome to the volunteer page of the NC Comicon Bull City 2019! Here you will get our standard information on the volunteer process for our convention. Please READ all the information before applying to be a volunteer.

NC Comicon volunteers are called “Henchmen” within the organization. Henchmen help with both the preparation before a convention, and day-of tasks required during the convention itself. There are many different roles and tasks involved, and we do have a dynamic task-based system where Henchmen can be assigned to areas and tasks that are needed at any given time throughout the convention.

Henchmen volunteers work one or more 4 hour shifts assigned by the volunteer coordinator. Volunteers will receive one weekend pass per 4 hour shift with a max of 2 badges. In lieu of a weekend pass, breakdown shift volunteers will receive a $60 Ultimate Comics gift certificate. We’d like to encourage anyone that you’d like to attend with you to volunteer too*! (*volunteers must be at least 16 years old)

We will have three volunteer meetings ahead of the convention. These are to provide information about volunteering and about the convention in general. Most meetings will also be broadcast live on Facebook at NC Henchmen. Like the page to get information on meetings, events, and guest announcements. All meetings are held at the Ultimate Comics Cary location at 1301 Buck Jones Road, Raleigh NC 27606 at 9 am, unless stated via communications.

Schedules for Henchmen will be provided to the volunteers one week (or earlier if possible) prior to the convention. Any schedule requests need to be submitted as soon as possible. Deadlines for these requests will be determined by the volunteer coordinator. No schedule changes will be made after the Monday prior to the convention.
